This blog will be devoted to my exploits into the wonderful world of Mark Overmars' Game Maker program, currently available in its version 7 form.

Game Maker is a games development environment which makes creating basic 2D computer games relatively simple. Not that I'm any sort of expert, I just enjoy using the program and get a lot of pleasure from creating retro style games which can offer some degree of sophistication.

It's incredible how a simple game with some background music and sound effects and a few background images and sprites can be turned into something quite addictive and playable.

In this blog I'll be taking you through my early adventures with the program through to some slightly more advanced games that I'm creating now. The blog will also act as comment repository for some online resources I have created for TeachNet-UK.org.uk - I'd appreciate any positive comments or constructive feedback here in the post entitled Game Maker Resources on TeachNet-UK.org.

Thanks for reading this and I look forward to documenting my experiences here.
